To make sure that water remains available to town supplied residents, daily maintenance checks are required. Added responsibilities include meter reading, meter installation, flushing of pipes, repair of hydrants, repair of leaks, servicing chlorination and pumping equipment, installation of water services to new homes and businesses, cross connection inspections, and leak detection. Please check other faucets to confirm that your water service has been interrupted. 

Residents who experience rusty or dirty water should do the following:

  1. Flush water piping using COLD WATER ONLY from a bath tub faucet for approximately 15 minutes, then all other cold water fixtures in the house for 5 minutes.
  2. Check water before washing clothes.
  3. Check water prior to running dish water.
  4. Check water before using for cooking.
